AfroTech Horizons was commissioned by the Tanganyika Christian Refugee Service (TCRS) to develop culturally appropriate training materials for facilitators working with low-literacy rural and refugee-hosting communities in Tanzania. The materials covered community health, livelihoods, and protection themes. AfroTech’s team employed a participatory design process, conducting community consultations to ensure cultural sensitivity, contextual relevance, and accessibility. The final materials — including visual guides, facilitator handbooks, and audio-visual resources — are now in active use across TCRS community networks in rural Tanzania.
